Another new watercolor painting

"Koi Crowd" is a watercolor on Aquabord 20" x 16". I will deliver it to Elliott Fouts Gallery tomorrow. It was created from photographs I took at the Sacramento Zoo. Its great fun creating vibrant color and the look of water on Aquabord. The clay surface of the board sucks the color in so fast it does not have time to fade as it dries. Really cool. It has been sprayed several time with Acrylic varnish so the color looks great and does not have to be framed under glass. So far we have sold 5 watercolor paintings on Aquabord and only one on paper framed under glass. My show will be up until September 4, 4749 J Street, Sacramento.

To purchase this painting contact Elliott Fouts Gallery at www.efgallery.com or 916-736-1429.

Second Saturday Artist Opening, August 2009

Last Saturday was such a beautiful eveing that my son Mark came to our opening on his classic motor cycle (a 1973 BMW he built from boxes of parts). Kathleen and I were very pleased that so many of you chose to visit our opening on Second Saturday. It was great fun to see so many friends and meet your family and friends too. Here are a few photos my husband Burke shot, very few, as he spent most of his time there visiting with everyone instead of taking photos.

Burke and I at the opening.

Linda never misses an opening of mine, its great to have wonderful friends.

If you missed it, not to worry the show will be up until September 4. Elliott Fouts Gallery is located in the East Sacramento neighborhood at 4749 J Street, Sacramento. The hours are 11:00 am - 6:00 pm Tuesdays through Fridays, 11:00 am - 4:00 pm Saturday and Sunday. Closed Monday.

New Show "CELEBRATING COLOR"

This is one of my new paintings in a two person show with Kathleen Stock at Elliott Fouts Gallery, 4749 J Street in Sacramento. The show is up and the Artists' Reception is this Saturday night from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. "Second Saturday" is art night in the city of Sacramento, an event that is so popular that they actually have to close streets to traffic in midtown. If you don't want to get caught up in the crazy party scene and really want to see art, come join us in East Sacramento. Elliott Fouts Gallery is on the left (coming from downtown Sacramento) just past 47th street. Look for the tiny side street called Bear Flag Way on your left and park there if the lot in front of the gallery is full. Now here is one of Kathleen's paintings. She is an oil painter and pastel artist from Sacramento.

Southwest Art Magazine published my painting!

"Paradise"
a 12" x 12" watercolor I painted on Aquabord
appears on page 51 of the August, 2009 issue of Southwest Art Magazine. It has long been a goal of mine to have a painting published in this beautiful magazine read by collectors and artists alike, so I am thrilled that the editor of the Art Values column chose to put my little watercolor in her column. Of course at only $400.00 this small watercolor really is a value! A big thank you to Cynthia Lou at Elliott Fouts Gallery who wrote to the magazine and sent photos of my paintings. She got their attention!
